Program Procedures

1. Registration is required unless otherwise noted. Why?

*While we do have a great space here at the Rodgers Memorial Library, space is not unlimited. We have table and chair capacity of 18 in the program room.

*By having registration we are able to prepare programs and crafts that are tailored to your children.

*Smaller Story Times that have more structure are a great introduction to kindergarten. Your children learn early how to sit, participate in a group and pay attention.

2. Attendance

*We ask you to call, in advance, if your child will not be attending a program. Missing a program twice in a row without calling out will result in the loss of your child's space in the program.

*Programs start promptly at the time indicated. Late arrivals are very distracting.  If you are more than 5 minutes late, we ask that you come back the next week.

3. Program Guidelines

*Programs are geared to the needs and interests of young children, and are designed for specific age groups. We suggest that a child, regardless of age, who displays inability to sit and listen quietly, may benefit from a break of one or two sessions before returning to the program.

*Story time is a time for young children to interact with other children their own age. For that reason, we ask that parents and siblings leave the program room during the program. We encourage you to use other areas of the library. (Siblings should be supervised while in other areas of the library.)
