POSITION 1: Teen Services Programming Assistant (Part-time)

George H. and Ella M. Rodgers Memorial Library is seeking a part-time Teen Services Programming Assistant to join our Youth Services Programming team. Our ideal candidate already has some experience working with teens. The Teen Services Assistant will engage teens, children and families, to enhance their experience at the library. We are looking for someone who has some experience creating and leading teen programs or is eager to learn these skills. A former teacher with a sense of fun would be a great fit. This is a permanent part-time position, 20-28 hours per week. 

In This Role You Will:

  • Ensure all young people feel welcome at the library.
  • Build rapport with young customers to enrich their library experience.
  • Assist the Youth Services Librarian in creating and leading regularly scheduled youth programming activities.
  • Provide assistance to patrons including making recommendations of materials.
  • Perform daily circulation tasks.

You Will Need To Be

  • Friendly, outgoing, and able to work with people of all ages.
  • Able to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Able to supervise teen’s use of the library, including setting boundaries and redirecting as needed.

You Will Need To Have

  • High school diploma or equivalent PLUS some experience working with teens.
  • Customer Service experience.
  • Strong communication, writing, and speaking skills. 

You Will Earn

  • Salary range starts at $14.00/hour based on experience.

Schedule: Must be able to work Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday evenings. Saturdays (9-1) and Sundays (1-5) as part of the regular rotation.

POSITION 2: Adult Services Programming Librarian (Part-time)

George H. and Ella M. Rodgers Memorial Library is seeking a part-time Adult Services Programming Librarian to join our library programming team. Our ideal candidate likes people, loves to play on social media, enjoys planning events or programs and has a good eye for graphic design. If you can think of crazy, fun things to do on the spur of the moment, this might be the job for you! The Adult Services Programming Librarian will engage patrons and enhance their experience at the library. 

This is a regular part-time role, 24-28 hours per week. 

In This Role You Will:

  • Ensure everyone feels welcome at library programs.
  • Create and host/lead special library programs.
  • Provide assistance to other staff regarding adult event planning.
  • Provide support for library programming by creating flyers/slides and online posts.
  • Work as team member with the Youth and Teen Services Programming staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

You Will Need to Be:

  • Friendly, outgoing and able to work with staff and patrons.
  • Able to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

You Will Need To Have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Strong communication, writing and speaking skills.
  • Familiarity with Canva or other similar designing software.

You Will Earn:

  • Salary range starts at $16/hour based on experience.

POSITION 3: Library Page

George H. and Ella M. Rodgers Memorial Library is seeking a part-time, Library Page. This is an entry-level, part-time (8-16 hours per week) year-round position required to work one or two evenings a week with two Saturdays/month. The ideal applicant will be a high school student or equivalent. The position will be subject to a six-(6)-month probationary work period. 

In this role you will: 

  • Sort and shelve library material
  • Empty book bins
  • Retrieve materials from storage
  • Clean and restock equipment
  • Maintain orderly appearance of library
  • Assists with normal circulation duties/tasks
  • Other duties as assigned

You Will Need To Be

  • Friendly, outgoing, and able to work with people
  • Willing to learn new skills
  • Able to sort items alphabetically or numerically 

Must be able to push or pull carts, do a moderate amount of bending, squatting, lifting (up to 40 lbs.), stretching and standing for extended periods of time.

Schedule: Must be able to work some evenings, Saturdays (9-1) and Sundays (1-5) as part of the regular rotation.

Salary: $9.75 to start, 8-16 hours per week.
