Returning materials

The Rodgers Library is a fine-free library as of June 1, 2025.

NOTE: Return items to the library or in the Book Return Drop. The library is not responsible for any lost or stolen items if these are left outside the building outside current operating hours.

All items should be returned in the Book Return Drop in the front of the library

  • Books
  • DVDs
  • Kits
  • Books on CD
  • Magazines

Please note: ALL Library of Things items need to be returned to the Reference Desk during the Library's current hours. These items cannot be dropped off in the book drop.

Item renewals

One (1) renewal is allowed for books on two-week loan periods if there are no requests, or “holds,” on the item. Three (3) renewals are allowed for books on three-week loan periods if there are no holds on the item.

Billing

Borrowers will be charged for lost or damaged items. The amount to be paid will be the cost of the item plus a $2.50 processing fee.

Two (2) overdue notification emails a week apart are generated if the item or items are not returned on the due date. If the item or items are not returned within four weeks after the second overdue notice, the items are marked as lost and the borrower will receive a bill for the market cost of the items plus the processing fee.

Library Card Fees

  • Non-residents may purchase an immediate family membership for an annual fee set by the Board of Trustees. Picture identification is required. (A library card will be issued to each immediate family member.)
  • Non-residents must renew their library cards annually and pay a “non-resident fee” set by the Board of Trustees, currently set at $50.*

* Fees are current as of 2020, and are subject to change at any time. Please call the library for the latest information.
